Our Co-Founder & CEO
Dr. D’Andrea Nicole Robinson has a passion for social justice and equity within the public education system for all students --specifically ensuring that Black students receive the same quality of education as their counterparts. She has worked as an elementary school teacher and academic intervention facilitator throughout the San Francisco Bay Area for over a decade. Her commitment to equity does not end in the classroom. She understands that many Black students living in the Bay Area do not have access to the same resources and opportunities; as a result, she founded Queens Gettin’ Lit!
Her social justice activism was ignited during her undergraduate years at the University of California, Berkeley where she majored in Political Science and volunteered at elementary schools in San Francisco, Berkeley, and Oakland. Inspired by the young people she worked with, she pursued teaching as a platform to expose Black students to knowledge as a tool of liberation and opportunity. Dr. Robinson earned her teaching credential and Master’s Degree in Education Curriculum Development at California State University, East Bay; a Master’s Degree in Education Leadership at Mills College; and in 2019 completed her Doctorate in Education at San Francisco State University. Dr. Robinson’s research focused on transforming the interactions and learning experiences among Black schoolgirls by creating and testing her own decolonization curriculum. |
